Kevin Volpp and Mitchell Schnall Elected to IOM

LDI Senior Fellows Kevin Volpp, MD, PhD, and Mitchell Schnall, MD, PhD, have been elected to membership in the Institute
Schnall and Volpp
of Medicine, according to an IOM announcement released today. In the statement, IOM President Harvey V. Fineberg said "Through their research, teaching, clinical work, and other contributions, these distinguished individuals have inspired and serve as role models to others. We look forward to drawing on their knowledge and skills to improve health through the work of the IOM."

Volpp is Professor of Medicine at Penn's Perelman School of Medicine, Professor of Health Care Management at the Wharton School, and Director of the LDI Center for Health Incentives and Behavioral Economics (CHIBE). Schnall is Professor and Chair at the Perelman School of Medicine's Department of Radiology. Their inclusion brings to 16 the number of Senior Fellows who are members of the IOM.

Established in 1970 by the National Academy of Sciences, IOM is a national resource for independent, scientifically informed analysis and recommendations on health issues.
