"We’re just at the starting line: Cornerstone’s transformation in healthcare"

Dr. Grace Terrell has been the chief executive officer and president of Cornerstone Health Care, P.A. since 2000.  As one of the fastest growing physician groups in the southeast, Cornerstone is a physician-owned and led multi-disciplinary practice of more than 365 physicians and mid-level health professionals. Dr. Terrell has overseen the growth and transformation of Cornerstone as an innovative physician-led medical group throughout central North Carolina. In 2013, she paved the way for the launching of Cornerstone Health Enablement Strategic Solutions (CHESS), a company dedicated to helping health systems and other medical groups make the transition to value-based medicine.

Dr. Terrell is a national and local leader in health care initiatives and reform.  She travels across the country working with organizations and speaking to groups about how to improve population-based health care for all patients at a lower cost of care through integrated clinical and IT infrastructure. She is on the Board of Directors for the American Medical Group Association; serves on the American Medical Association’s Innovators Committee Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Task Force, and Integrated Physician Task Force; is a member of the Advisory Board for the Oliver Wyman Health Innovation Center; and is on the Board of Advisors for Inventurus Knowledge Solutions. She is involved with health information technology development as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Certifying Commission for Health Information Technology and as the co-chair of the health information technology policy committee for the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology.
