Major: Mathematics and Economics

Animesh is a rising junior at Georgia State University double majoring in Economics and Mathematics, with strong interests in macroeconomics, development economics, and political economy.

Through the SUMR program, he is working with Dr. Divya Pandey on a project exploring mental models and health behavior change. He is also working with Dr. Claudio Lucarelli on a health economics project studying how payment mechanisms influence the use of cardiac stents and physician decision-making.

At Georgia State, Animesh serves as president of the Economics Club, where he organizes workshops, seminars, networking events, and field visits focused on economics research, consulting, public policy, and career development for students interested in economics. He is also a research assistant in the Department of Economics, contributing to research on macroeconomics and international investment.

Animesh plans to pursue a PhD in Economics and build a career as an economist working at the intersection of research and policy. In his free time, he enjoys watching NBA basketball, especially the Atlanta Hawks and LeBron James, working out, and exploring new coffee shops.
