Lucas Hudson
Lucas Hudson is a rising senior at the University of Pennsylvania double majoring in Health & Societies and Economics, with a certificate in Spanish. He is interested in how structural forces such as insurance markets, healthcare policy, and pharmaceutical systems shape health outcomes, access, and equity across communities and throughout the life course.
Through the SUMR program, Lucas works with Dr. Victor Roy on a project investigating financialization and structural racism in Medicare Advantage, and with Dr. Molly Candon on research examining insurance coverage barriers to acupuncture and integrative care.
At Penn, Lucas is a Stavros Niarchos Foundation Paideia Fellow, focusing on interdisciplinary exploration and fostering dialogue across difference. He has explored a wide range of roles in healthcare and research, including conducting data analysis for a World Bank-affiliated project in Buenos Aires, supporting financial modeling and market research for a healthcare search fund launched by Wharton MBA students, and contributing to business operations at the largest private nonprofit hospital system in South Florida.
