Associate Professor, School of Nursing

Dr. Teitelman is a leader in advancing health for girls and women nationally and internationally. She inspires others to seek a greater understanding of the contributions of social processes to health and illness, particularly for marginalized groups of people.

Dr. Teitelman, an expert advanced practice nurse, is interested in health promotion and advocacy, especially through primary health care with underserved populations. She has been teaching and inspiring advanced practice nursing students for over 20 years, challenging them to integrate social and behavioral research with health sciences to inform their practice. In addition, Dr. Teitelman teaches a graduate course on designing health promotion interventions, drawing students from across the campus. She is regularly invited as a guest lecturer, speaking on promotion of health among youth, sexual risk reduction for adolescents, and partner violence.
