Austin Kilaru, MD, is a fellow in the National Clinician Scholars Program at the Perelman School of Medicine and emergency physician. His current research interests include studying care coordination between the emergency department and primary care; innovation in the delivery and financing of emergency care; population health strategies for acute illness; and tools to address social determinants of health at the bedsie including opioid use disorder. Dr. Kilaru attended Yale University, where he studied English, and received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Austin trained in emergency medicine at Highland Hospital in Oakland, California, where he served as chief resident.
