Dr. Deepshikha Ashana is interested in studying ICU organization and resource utilization, as well as the role of the intensive care unit in provision of palliative care. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology, which provides rigorous training in research methods and biostatistics. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania in 2008 prior to obtaining her medical and business degrees from the Perelman School of Medicine and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 2012. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2015. She subsequently worked as a management consultant at McKinsey and Company, during which time she gained experience in optimizing hospital to post-acute care transitions, creating go-to-market strategies for novel biopharmaceutical products, and spearheading an operations diagnostic to improve workforce productivity. She is currently completing a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Health System. Dr. Ashana lives with her husband in the suburbs of Philadelphia where she enjoys eating while he cooks. They can also be found hiking, biking and watching lots of movies.
