Eugene Kroch is an Executive Advisor at Booz Allen Hamilton, before which he was Vice President and Chief Scientist at Premier, Inc. He led Premier’s efforts to develop measures to track quality, cost, and access, conducting research on large-scale health databases. He has served as an advisor to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, helping the Office of the Coordinator for Health Information Technology, the Agency for Healthcare Quality and Research, and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in a number of capacities, including serving on expert panels. Dr. Kroch has more than 30 years of experience in the field of health economics and public policy. He has expertise in the application of both traditional and recently developed statistical and econometric techniques to problems of performance measurement and incentive design, health care payment reform, comparative effectiveness research, and competition among health care provider organizations. Dr. Kroch has written extensively on a wide variety of topics in the field of economics and public policy in general, and specifically in the area of health economics. He has also held academic appointments at Columbia University Graduate School of Business and the University of Pennsylvania, Department of Economics. He has also held appointments at Wellesley College, Harvard University, and visiting posts at the International University of Japan, Beijing University, and the Charles University in Prague.
