Rachel French, BSN, RN is a T32 doctoral research fellow in the Center for Health Outcomes and Policy Research (CHOPR) at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. Her research focuses on leveraging the organization of nursing to improve outcomes for hospitalized patients with opioid use disorder. She is interested in implementing evidence-based treatment for opioid and other substance use disorders in hospitals, especially for endocarditis patients. After obtaining her BSN from Boston College in 2017, she worked as an RN in Boise, ID at a Federally Qualified Health Center that provided primary care and mediation assisted therapy to a largely underserved population. She is passionate about her work with individuals affected by substance use and is engaged in research and advocacy to improve care and outcomes for this population.
