Timothy Gaulton, MD, MSCE is an assistant professor in the department of anesthesiology and critical care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.  His research interest is in preoperative risk assessment and the recovery of function and cognition after critical illness and surgery.  His research to date has focused on defining precise phenotypes of obesity on the risk of postoperative complications using social and disability data.
He received his medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and also a Masters of Science in Clinical Epidemiology with a focus on Pharmacoepidemiology. He completed his anesthesiology residency at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and a fellowship in critical care medicine at Penn.  He joined the faculty in 2018.
