Andrea D. Castellano, RN (she/her), is a PhD Student at Penn Nursing. She is committed to advancing health equity in historically marginalized populations through community-based, culturally responsive approaches. As a proud Peruvian-American first-generation college graduate, she draws on her identity to uplift the Latin American community and promote holistic well-being. Her research focuses on the intersection of intimate partner violence (IPV), structural determinants of health, and psychological distress among new Americans.
Castellano earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Emory University’s Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing. At Emory, she conducted research in partnership with the Farmworkers Association of Florida to investigate occupational health hazards among heat-exposed populations.
