Bat-Zion “Betsy” Hose, PhD is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Hose is trained in understanding and improving complex systems. In her research, Hose applies human factors and systems engineering principles to study the complexity of team-based care processes for vulnerable patient populations, like critically injured children and adults. She also designs solutions, like health information technology and communication protocols, to support health care teams working together to provide high-quality, safe patient care. Dr. Hose is dedicated to her research about transforming health care to improve patient safety and clinician well-being. She received her Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD from the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
