Daniel Holena, MD, MSCE, FACS is an Associate Professor of Surgery and Epidemiology in Biostatistics and Epidemiology at Penn. He is board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care. Dr. Holena specializes in the treatment of traumatic injury, emergency general surgery conditions, and surgical critical care. He studies the quality of care after injury, with a specific interest in the use of video review for process measurement during resuscitation as well as methodology used for risk-adjusting trauma morbidity, mortality, and failure to rescue.

Dr. Holena received his general surgery training at Cornell, and completed his fellowship in trauma surgery and surgical critical care at Penn. He also received his MSCE from Penn’s Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics.
