Harrison P. Nguyen, MD, MBA is a Board-Certified Dermatologist and Fellow in Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology at the University of Pennsylvania. A respected thought leader in dermatology, Dr. Nguyen is a frequently sought-after speaker and consultant and has been named a Rising Star in Dermatology by Pfizer.
He previously was Chief Resident in Dermatology at the Emory University School of Medicine and a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Prior to joining Emory/GT, Dr. Nguyen was an independent consultant to several Fortune 500 pharmaceutical companies and early stage health care start-ups. His most high profile start-up client achieved unicorn status in February 2021. He also was a senior advisor for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), where he helped the agency to enhance the safety of personal care products in the U.S. market.
Dr. Nguyen graduated with honors from Rice University, where he was an All-Conference linebacker for the Rice Owls Football Team. He continued on to earn his MD from Baylor College of Medicine, MBA from the Yale School of Management, and MPH from the Yale School of Public Health. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery/Association and previously led the American Academy of Dermatology’s Health Policy Research Group. He serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Cutaneous Medicine and has authored over 50 PubMed-indexed scientific articles.
