Kate Wallis, MD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine and a developmental-behavioral pediatrician (DBP) at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. As a clinician, Dr. Wallis helps care for children with developmental disabilities. Dr. Wallis is also a health equity researcher who seeks to improve the early identification of and care for children with developmental disorders and autism. She is passionate about using research as a way to amplify the voices of people with lived experience to improve experiences and outcomes. Dr. Wallis is also passionate about mentorship and research training, and improving the equity of clinical care and research conduct. Dr. Wallis is a bilingual Spanish-speaker, and her work explores the role of language in health care experiences.
After graduating from Stony Brook with her dual MD and MPH degrees, she completed residency in pediatrics at NYU School of Medicine/Bellevue Hospital followed by fellowship in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She lives in Philadelphia with her partner and two young children and loves running and enjoying Philadelphia’s outdoor spaces.
