Katherine Pumphrey, MHA, MD is a Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellow at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She is enrolled in the Quality Improvement, Patient Safety, and Medical Operations track, where she will complete the Master of Science in Health Policy Research degree at the University of Pennsylvania while serving as a fellow in the Center for Healthcare Improvement and Patient Safety (CHIPS) program.

Dr. Pumphrey received her medical and Master’s of Health Administration degrees from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. She completed her residency training in Pediatrics at the New York-Presbyterian (NYP) Weill Cornell Medical Center. At Weill Cornell, she participated in research regarding the impact of communication skills training on the patient experience and the implementation of a PICU analgosedation protocol. In addition, she completed an asthma guideline consistent care quality improvement project. As a resident leader, she served as Chair of the NYP Weill Cornell House Staff Quality Council and as President of the Pediatric House Staff Council.
