Kathy Sliwinski, BSN, RN is a PhD student at the Penn School of Nursing. She has previous research experience in global nursing topics related to maternal waiting homes. Additionally, she has experience working on the National COVID-19 Convalescent Plasma Project. Sliwinski is incredibly passionate about health equity and performing scholarly research that addresses access barriers to health care and the creation of interventions to tackle these pertinent issues. She is specifically interested in language barriers and how that can negatively impact care of patients. She is also interested in health policy and the incorporation of research into policy making.
