  • Clinical Fellow, General Pediatrics, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

Olivia Familusi, MD, MSHP is a Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellow in the Complex Care Clinical Concentration at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Dr. Familusi’s scholarship sits at the intersection of health equity, trauma-responsive care, and communication. Her research examines how medical, social, and relational factors influence the outcomes of children with complex and chronic conditions. Across these areas, she is particularly interested in identifying modifiable factors that can help health systems better recognize and respond to the needs of children and families navigating medical complexity. Her work seeks to understand how health care systems can support families during periods of medical transition and develop more equitable, responsive models of care.

In addition to research, Dr. Familusi is committed to medical education, mentorship, and advocacy. She is particularly interested in preparing clinicians to communicate effectively across differences, recognize the impact of trauma and social context on health care experiences, and build more equitable and responsive systems of care. Dr. Familusi earned her MD and MSHP from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her residency training in pediatrics at CHOP.
