Sara Ginzberg, MD

Sara Ginzberg, MD is a PGY-4 in General Surgery at Penn. Dr. Ginzberg is currently pursuing the Master’s of Science in Health Policy Research at Penn, with a concentration in Health Care Quality and Safety. She is interested in optimizing the delivery of cancer care, with a particular focus on identifying systems-level changes that will enable better access to screening and treatment for patients from historically marginalized groups.

She is also currently serving as the Associate Director of the Policy Lab at the Center for Surgical Health, a program that facilitates access for uninsured Philadelphians to essential surgical care at Penn.

She was born and raised in the Philadelphia area and obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, where she majored in Ecology & Evolution. She subsequently received her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism Honor Societies.

She plans to pursue a clinical fellowship in Surgical Oncology.
