Wei Fu, PhD is a post-doctoral researcher in the Wang Lab in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Fu’s research explores diverse themes in applied econometrics, health economics, and public policy assessments. He is particularly interested in health equity, distributive justice of biomedical innovations across populations, and the welfare effects of public policies on the disadvantaged populations. Moreover, he is also working on genoeconomics projects, incorporating genetic data into studies on health, social, and economic behaviors. His dissertation, titled “NIH Grant Expansion, Ancestral Diversity and Scientific Discovery in Genomics Research,” examines how public funding policies help address the underrepresentation of minority populations in genomics research and assesses the scientific value of diversity in science. Dr. Fu obtained his PhD in Economics from Lehigh University in 2020.
