Kevin Volpp on GE's Anti-Smoking Incentives

A GE anti-smoking program that offered incentives for smokers to quit prompted 9.4% of participants  to remain smoke-free for 18 months compared to 3.6% who remained free in a non-incentive group, according to LDI Senior Fellow Kevin Volpp. The director of the Centre for Health Incentives is featured in a story in the The Economist about the growth of corporate wellness programs.
