In his continuing study of the educational trends and attitudes of a national population of medical school students, LDI Senior Fellow Mitesh Patel's latest survey has found that student satisfaction with health policy education was rising. In 2008, more than 50% were not satisfied with the level of health policy training they received. In 2012 that level of dissatisfaction had decreased to about 40%.
"We could not assess in this study whether these changes represent improvements in medical school curricula or increased exposure to broader national discussions regarding health policy," said Patel.
Patel, MD, MBA, MS, is a recent graduate of the Penn's Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholars Program.
