Perelman School of Medicine Assistant Professor of Pediatrics Jaya Aysola is this year mentoring her ninth SUMR Scholar -- Kaliya Greenidge -- in a project that evaluates how primary care patients are socially connected and how their social network relates to their knowledge and lifestyle choices that reduce cancer risk. Aysola is Chair of Penn Medicine’s Health Equity Taskforce and Executive Director for Penn Medicine Health Equity Initiative within the Office of the CMO, where she leads the effort to improve equity and inclusion within the health system and affiliated health science schools, through research, education, community engagement and service delivery.
