LDI Research Seminar with Mireille Jacobson, PhD
Mireille Jacobson is an associate professor of economics and public policy and the Director of the Center for Health Care Management and Policy at the University of California, Irvine’s Paul Merage School of Business. She is also a research associate in the Health Care program at the National Bureau of Economic Research. She has a diverse portfolio of research united by an interest in understanding how health care policies affect well-being. Her current projects include analyses of (1) the budgetary trade-off between state Medicaid spending and education spending and (2) the impact of the massive expansion of Federally Qualified Health Centers on health outcomes. Her work has been funded by the National Cancer Institute, the National Institute on Aging and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and has appeared in Health Affairs, The New England Journal of Medicine, The Quarterly Journal of Economics, American Economic Journal – Applied Economics and American Economic Journal – Economic Policy. Professor Jacobson received her BA in economics from the University of Chicago and her PhD, also in economics, from Harvard University.
