Chase Brown is cardiothoracic surgery resident at the University of Pennsylvania and currently in his fourth year of training. He graduated with a bachelor of science in chemistry from Wheaton College in 2008. Before starting medical school, he spent time as a commodity futures trader on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. He attended medical school at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University and graduated in 2014. He then went to the University of Pennsylvania for an integrated cardiac surgery residency and is currently finishing his training. In 2017, he was awarded an NIH T32 grant to study the comparative effectiveness and economic assessment of emerging technologies in cardiovascular surgery and medicine.
