Bhavik Patel, MD is an attending in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and a postdoctoral research fellow at the Palliative and Advanced Illness Research (PAIR) Center. He is interested in understanding health disparities in respiratory illnesses with a particular focus on the role of health-related social needs. He is also interested in studying behavioral economics interventions to improve representativeness in clinical trial recruitment within the critical care space.
Dr. Patel is originally from Chicago and earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois and subsequently completed internal medicine residency at Duke University Hospital, as well as pulmonary and critical care fellowship at Penn. During fellowship, he earned his MS in Health Policy Research (MSHP) at the Perelman School of Medicine.
