Charlotte Weiss, PhD, MSN is an early investigator and NRSA Post Doctoral Fellow at the NewCourtland Center of Health and Transitions at Penn Nursing. Her program of research intersects creative arts and qualitative methods to improve the spiritual and emotional well-being of family caregivers of people with serious illness. Dr. Weiss clinically practices as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP-BC), specializing in the areas of palliative care and oncology. She also holds a certificate as a nurse educator. Trained as a Caritas Coach by Dr. Jean Watson of Watson Caring Science Institute, Weiss operates from a holistic lens and an interconnected unified worldview. She resides in Wilmington, NC, with her physician husband, niece, dog, and two cats, where she enjoys long beach walks, camping, quilting, crocheting, and reading poetry and historical fiction. Dr. Weiss received her PhD in Nursing Science from the University of Colorado-Anschutz Medical Campus and her MSN at the University of Southern Indiana.
