Daniel Zheng, MD, MSHP

Daniel Zheng, MD, MSHP is an Instructor in the Division of Pediatric Oncology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. His research examines how social determinants of health impact outcomes across the pediatric cancer care continuum. He is specifically interested in identifying specific mechanisms that drive outcome disparities to inform the development of effective multi-level interventions with a particular focus on financial toxicity.

Dr. Zheng studied psychology and subsequently obtained his MD and a Master’s in Health Sciences at Yale University. He also previously worked at a respite care facility for the homeless in Washington D.C. through Americorps. He completed his pediatrics residency through the Leadership in Equity and Advocacy (LEAD) Track of the Boston Combined Residency Program at Boston Children’s Hospital and at Boston Medical Center, where he also served as chief resident. Afterwards, he completed his pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and a Master’s in Health Policy Research through the National Clinician Scholars Program at the University of Pennsylvania.
