Jeremy Jones, MD, is a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellow at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). His research focuses on identifying cost-effective hospital operations and public policy interventions to improve pediatric emergency care in community emergency departments, where most pediatric patients initially present. He also studies opportunities to reduce harms—physical, financial, or otherwise—that patients and families may experience during interactions with the health care system.

Jones’s current work involves evaluating an educational partnership between CHOP and the Philadelphia Fire Department, the largest emergency medical services provider in Pennsylvania. The program aims to bolster pediatric readiness among crews and inform best practices for building pediatric prehospital capacity in other municipalities. His prior work has emphasized trainee engagement in high-value care and financial stewardship through innovative didactic approaches that use real-world examples and simulations to promote a patient-centered perspective.

He earned his medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where he also received a certificate in medical education. He then completed his general pediatrics residency at CHOP and is now pursuing a Master of Science in Health Policy Research with a concentration in Health Care Quality and Safety. Jones is a member of the Pennsylvania Emergency Medical Services for Children Committee and serves as fellow vice chair of CHOP’s Housestaff Quality and Safety Council.
