Peter Zhang, MD, MS, is a clinical informatics fellow at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and a hospitalist with Penn Medicine. His research focuses on the intersection of clinical informatics, quality improvement, and population health. His current work aims to enhance follow-up care for children with elevated blood lead levels in primary care through the implementation of clinical decision support tools and nudges in the electronic health record.

His prior work focused on remote patient monitoring and examining cancer outcomes in relation to socioeconomic factors. He is deeply interested in understanding the impact of social determinants of health and designing strategies to reduce health disparities.

Zhang earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Shreveport and a master’s degree in molecular science and nanotechnology from Louisiana Tech University. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, where he also served as Chief Resident of Quality and Safety in partnership with the VA Medical Center.
