Shimrit Keddem, PhD, MPH is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Pennsylvania, and Co-Director of the Qualitative Research Core at the Veterans Affairs Center for Health Equity Research & Promotion (CHERP). Dr. Keddem is a health services researcher and educator with expertise in qualitative and mixed methods. Through her research, Dr. Keddem seeks to improve health care programming, especially for vulnerable and disadvantaged populations. Her work in health services research has focused on system-level assessments and patient experiences of primary care and patient-centered care both within and outside the Veterans Health Administration. Her research in women’s health has focused on the relationship between social-ecological factors and health outcomes for women. Throughout her research career, she has worked in collaboration with colleagues from multiple disciplines. She has used a variety of mixed methods techniques to explore various public health and health services topics.
