Yuan He, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and a primary care pediatrician at Karabots West Philadelphia, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). She also leads community-facing initiatives at the Center for Health Equity at CHOP, and serves as the child health policy advisor for the Division of Maternal, Child, and Family Health at the Philadelphia Department of Public Health.
Dr. He’s academic and policy interests include improving care for children and families impacted by addiction and child welfare involvement, neighborhood- and community-based interventions to reduce racial disproportionality in the child welfare system, and leveraging community engagement and cross-sector collaboration to advance health equity.
Dr. He received her medical and public health training at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson. She completed pediatric residency training in the Urban Health and Advocacy Track of the Boston Combined Residency Program at Boston Children’s Hospital and Boston Medical Center, where she also served as a chief resident. She then joined the National Clinician Scholars Program (formerly Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars) at the University of Pennsylvania, where she received her Master’s in Health Policy Research.
