LDI/SOM HSR Workshop with Timothy Anderson, MD

“Beyond the Guidelines: Leveraging observational data to understand variation in cardiovascular care for older adults”

12:00p.m. – 1:00p.m. October 24, 2018

Blockley Hall, Room 1311, 423 Guardian Drive

Tim Anderson is a primary care research fellow in the Division of General Internal Medicine. His principal interest is in identifying strategies to improve the quality of care delivered to older adults with cardiovascular conditions and to reduce the delivery of low-value care. His research utilizes large datasets and advanced observational research methods to improve our understanding of drivers of overuse of medications and diagnostic testing across care settings. Tim ultimately aims to translate an improved understanding of the factors driving variation in care to develop and pilot interventions which incorporate patient’s long-term disease control and likelihood of benefit to improve chronic disease management decisions during transitions of care. Tim’s research interests are driven by his clinical experiences as a primary care physician and resident preceptor at the UCSF Mt. Zion General Internal Medicine Clinic.
