Elizabeth (Betsy) Salazar, MD is an instructor at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and University of Pennsylvania in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. Dr. Salazar’s research evaluates how the financing, structures, hospital operations, and processes of the perinatal health system impact the quality of care and outcomes of both low acuity and high acuity neonatal populations. She has a special interest in moderate and late preterm infants as a parent of two late preterm infants. Other interests include interventions to improve social determinants of health, including cash transfers, and to assist in transition from hospital to home.
Dr. Salazar graduated from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, and is completing her Masters in Health Policy Research as well. She was a pediatric resident and chief resident and fellow at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
