Kerry Meltzer, MD

Kerry Meltzer, MD is a general internist at the VA Medical Center. She is pursuing her Master’s of Science in Health Policy Research through the National Clinician Scholars Program at the University of Pennsylvania. She is interested in researching how to improve outcomes for uninsured and underinsured populations through systems-level health care reform that also reduces costs and lowers barriers to care.

Dr. Meltzer obtained her MD at George Washington University School of Medicine where she was also in the health policy track. Prior to medical school, she worked at the White House Office of Health Reform as well as the National Institutes of Health researching novel treatments for hepatitis C. She completed residency in internal medicine/primary care at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Her work has appeared in the New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, JAMA, Annals of Internal Medicine and the Journal of General Internal Medicine, as well as the New York Times and The Atlantic.
