Nancy Hodgson, PhD, RN, is the Claire M. Fagin Leadership Professor of Nursing and Chair of the Department of Biobehavioral Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. A nurse scientist, she brings extensive research expertise in dementia (Alzheimer’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease–related dementias), family caregiving, and biobehavioral intervention trials in persons with mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

Her research program is focused on testing and implementing interventions to ease the leading symptoms for diverse populations of people living with dementia and their care partners in home and community settings. She has served as principal investigator on multiple clinical trials that rigorously evaluated biobehavioral interventions for people with dementia and their family caregivers.

As a Fellow in the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics, she brings multimethod expertise, including qualitative methods (interview design, conduct, data coding and analysis), behavioral intervention development (using mixed methods to design or adapt interventions, including technology-based interventions), single-site and multisite clinical trials, and implementation science.
