Shivan Mehta, MD, MBA, MSHP is the Associate Chief Innovation Officer at Penn Medicine, Director of the Population Health Lab, and Associate Professor of Medicine and Health Policy at the Perelman School of Medicine. He leads a team of managers, designers, and engineers to develop, evaluate, and implement health care delivery innovations across Penn Medicine’s health system. Dr. Mehta has led and evaluated over 20 pragmatic trials of health care delivery interventions that leverage behavioral science, care redesign, and information technology to improve population health outcomes in areas such as colorectal cancer screening, hypertension management, breast cancer screening, hepatitis c screening, and vaccine outreach. As a clinical gastroenterologist, Shivan is also Co-Director of Quality for Gastroenterology.

Dr. Mehta received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Yale University, his MD and MSHP from the University of Pennsylvania, and his MBA in Health Care Management from the Wharton School.
