Jason Hockenberry, PhD, is a health economist and Associate Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at Emory University. His interests in health policy and economics are varied, but his current particular foci are on the effects of provider human capital and hospitals’ organizational structure on quality and efficiency of care, and more recently the economic issues surrounding behavioral health policy and service delivery. Prior to coming to Emory in 2011 he was on the faculty in the Department of Health Management and Policy at the University of Iowa for three years, where he also served as an investigator in a Veteran’s Affairs Health Services Research and Development Center of Excellence and still maintains an affiliation. He received his PhD in Economics from Lehigh University in 2008.
