“Physician and Patient Effects from a Medicaid Price Shock: Evidence from Florida’s Fee Bump”

Michael R. Richards, MD, PhD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor of Health Policy at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Prior to coming to Vanderbilt, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics and the Wharton School from 2013 – 2015. His primary research area involves health care provider responses to public policies and market environments. 

Some of his recent academic work can be found in the New England Journal of Medicine, Medical Care, Milbank Quarterly, Health Economics Policy & Law, Health Affairs, Health Economics Policy & Law, Health Affairs, Health Services Research, and Health Economics.

He completed his PhD training at Yale University prior to joining LDI and was awarded his MD and MPH degrees from the University of Illinois immediately preceding his time at Yale.
