Michelle Moniz, MD, MSc is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation (IHPI) at the University of Michigan. Dr. Moniz’s research focuses on implementing evidence into reproductive health policy and practice. Her research evaluates the clinical implementation of immediate postpartum contraception in different real-world maternity care settings. She also studies the Affordable Care Act’s effects on access, utilization, and costs of reproductive health services. Her work aims to help people meet their reproductive life goals and to reduce disparities in reproductive health outcomes. Dr. Moniz is passionate about mentorship, professional development, and establishing equitable and inclusive workplace environments. She also serves as the chair of IHPI’s Early Career Faculty Advisory Council. Dr. Moniz received her medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis and completed residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Pittsburgh Magee Womens Hospital. 

This virtual workshop is presented as part of Penn LDI’s Emerging Scholars Exchange Program, in partnership with the University of Michigan Institute of Healthcare Policy & Innovation and the University of California, San Francisco’s Philip R. Lee Institute for Health Policy Studies.
