Policy makers have focused on advancing health equity using race-neutral and race-conscious policy, but large racial disparities persist. An alternative approach is using racism-conscious policymaking. Penn LDI and Health Affairs‘ virtual seminar, offered in connection with Health Affairs’ October issue on structural racism, explored the possibility of racism-conscious policy, the recent Supreme Court decision’s effect on race-conscious policies, and the tools available to policy makers seeking to provide everyone with a fair and just opportunity to attain their highest level of health.
