Payment and Policy Solutions for America’s Mental Health Care Crisis

A Conversation with Tristan Gorrindo, MD, Haiden Huskamp, PhD, Madhuri Jha, LCSW, MPH, and Hoangmai Pham, MD, MPH, moderated by Rachel M. Werner, MD, PhD

12:00p.m. – 1:00p.m. ET September 23, 2022 Virtual Event

Mental health care remains a deeply troubled system, with inadequate funding, poor access, and ongoing workforce shortages. As the system reaches a breaking point, it has started to garner some attention: from President Biden in his State of the Union address, to Congress, in a rare show of amity as it considers legislation to address this crisis. But what is likely to emerge? Our panel delved in, considering better financing systems for mental health and promising new innovations in areas such as suicide prevention, crisis response, access to care for adolescents, workforce pay strategies, and how to make parity laws more effective.
