In this talk, Dr. Ganguli will examine the role of primary care in the rapidly evolving US health care landscape, present potentially worrisome trends, and use research and policy case studies to examine the benefits and unintended consequences of strategies to “fix” primary care.

Ishani Ganguli, MD, MPH

Assistant Professor, Medicine, Harvard Medical School; Primary Care Physician, Brigham and Women’s Hospital

Ishani Ganguli, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor of Medicine, a health services researcher, and a practicing primary care physician at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Her research focuses on primary care payment and delivery, the use and consequences of low-value care, and gender equity. Dr. Ganguli serves as an Associate Editor at JAMA Internal Medicine. She is also a former journalist who has written about science and health care for The Boston Globe and The Washington Post, among other publications. She received her AB, MD, and MPH from Harvard University and completed internal medicine/primary care residency and a health policy and management fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital.
