Medicaid provides medical coverage to over 72 million low-income Americans, including children, pregnant women, elderly adults, and people with disabilities. Congress and the Trump administration are discussing deep cuts to the program to fund other policy priorities. Potential proposals include imposing new work requirements, shifting to a block grant or per-capita cap funding formula, and reducing the federal match rate for states. If adopted, these proposals could have significant effects on state budgets, the economy, and the health of current Medicaid enrollees. Join Penn LDI and a panel of experts to explore the potential implications of emerging federal Medicaid policy proposals.
