Unpacking Consolidation in Health Care

A Conversation with James C. Capretta, MA, Leemore S. Dafny, PhD, Mark Seidman, JD, and Lois Uttley, MPP, moderated by David Grande, MD, MPA

12:00p.m. – 1:00p.m. ET January 13, 2023 Virtual Event

Hospital mergers and a recent acceleration of physician practice consolidation have changed the U.S. health care system. The result is typically increased prices with no measurable improvement in quality. And yet, spurred on by market forces including alternative payment models, investments by private equity, and COVID-19 pandemic-related financial hardships, experts predict a continuation of the trend towards consolidation.  Join our panel of experts as we discuss what these changes mean for health care providers, their patients, and what, if anything, we should do about it.
