Catherine (Katie) Auriemma, MD, MSHP is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and a core faculty member at the Palliative and Advanced Illness Research (PAIR) Center at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Her work focuses on improving the value of adult critical care medicine and serious illness care by better aligning medical care with the values and preferences of patients and their families. She works to develop and validate patient- and family-centered outcomes for studies of critically and seriously ill populations. Her work has been featured in JAMA Internal Medicine, JAMA Network Open, Intensive Care Medicine, and The American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.
Dr. Auriemma received her medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of California, San Francisco, where she subsequently served as Chief Resident at Moffitt-Long Hospital. She received her Master’s degree in Health Policy Research at Penn.
