Anna Costello, MD

Anna Costello, MD is a pediatric rheumatology fellow at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She is interested in diagnostic delay in children with rare diseases and the communication of diagnostic uncertainty. She is currently enrolled in the MSHP program and is a completing a Diagnostic Excellence Fellowship through the Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine. Through these programs, she looks forward to studying diagnostic delays in children with rheumatic disease to help guide quality improvement efforts to minimize the time to diagnosis for patients. She completed her undergraduate and medical school studies at Brown University before coming to CHOP for her Pediatrics Residency. She served as a chief resident at CHOP and then worked as a Pediatric Hospital Medicine attending before deciding to return to fellowship.
