Cody-Aaron Gathers, MD, MSHP is a pediatric cardiology fellow at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. His passion includes community engagement to mitigate racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic disparities in cardiac arrest, and he develops interventions to mitigate these disparities within hospital systems and communities.

He studied biochemistry and military leadership at Clemson University and subsequently obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree at the Medical University of South Carolina. Prior to his fellowship, he completed his residency in pediatrics through the Urban Health and Advocacy Track of the Boston Combined Residency Program at Boston Children’s Hospital and Boston Medical Center. Following residency, he completed his fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and a postdoctoral research fellowship in the National Clinician Scholars Program, through which he obtained his Master of Science in Health Policy at the University of Pennsylvania.
