Cody Gathers, MD, is a Pediatric Critical Care Fellow at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and a National Clinician Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania. His research analyzes racial and socioeconomic disparities in pediatric cardiac arrest and develops interventions to mitigate these disparities within hospital systems and communities.
He studied biochemistry and military leadership at Clemson University and subsequently obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree at the Medical University of South Carolina. Prior to his fellowship, he completed his residency in pediatrics through the Urban Health and Advocacy Track of the Boston Combined Residency Program at Boston Children’s Hospital and Boston Medical Center.
