Eric Bressman, MD, MSHP is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. His research centers around the integration of technology into clinical care delivery, with a particular focus on transitions of care. This includes developing and testing digital tools to engage patients after hospital discharge, examining the role of telemedicine during this critical recovery period, and leveraging remote monitoring to enhance in-home support. He is also interested, more broadly, in the regulatory framework supporting the use of virtual care, including issues such as interstate delivery of care and payment for digital interactions.
Dr. Bressman received his MD from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he went on to complete his internal medicine residency and chief residency. He completed the National Clinician Scholars Program and received his Master’s of Science in Health Policy at the University of Pennsylvania. His work has been featured in JAMA Health Forum, JAMA Network Open, and the Journal of General Internal Medicine. His writing has appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle, the Philadelphia Inquirer, and NEJM Journal Watch.
